Celebrating Community and Giving Back: That Day In May 2023

The Rotary Club of Oakwood is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved annual event, That Day In May (TDIM). With over forty-five years of tradition, TDIM has become a cherished occasion for the Oakwood community. On Saturday, May 20th, 2023, the Rotary Club of Oakwood invites you to join us for a full day of festivities, followed by the third annual golf outing and Silent Auction on Monday, May 22nd.

As we come together to celebrate, we also have the opportunity to support the Oakwood Rotary Foundation, which has been making a positive impact on local nonprofits and charitable organizations in the Miami Valley since 1988.

A Day Packed with Excitement: TDIM offers a diverse range of events and activities to cater to everyone’s interests. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:
Pancake Breakfast: Kick off the day with a delicious breakfast that includes mouthwatering pancakes, maple syrup, and a variety of toppings.

5K/10K & Fun Runs: Lace up your running shoes and join fellow fitness enthusiasts for an invigorating run through Oakwood’s scenic routes. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just getting started, this event promises an enjoyable experience for all.

Parade: Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as the streets come alive with a spectacular parade showcasing local organizations, marching bands, and community spirit.

Games & Bouncy Houses: Children and adults alike can partake in a day of fun-filled activities, including games, inflatable bouncy houses, and much more.

Auto Show: Car enthusiasts will be treated to a display of classic and modern vehicles, providing a feast for the eyes and a chance to appreciate automotive craftsmanship.

Dog Parade & Dog Show: Four-legged friends take center stage in this charming event. Witness adorable canines strut their stuff and compete for various categories, bringing joy to everyone in attendance.

Silent Auction: Bid on an array of incredible items generously donated by local businesses and individuals, with all proceeds going towards the Oakwood Rotary Foundation.

Golf Outing: Tee off at the esteemed Dayton Country Club course on Monday, May 22nd. Enjoy a round of golf while supporting a worthy cause, followed by the highly anticipated Silent Auction.

Cocktail Party: Conclude the festivities with an elegant cocktail party, providing an opportunity to mingle, share stories, and reflect on the success of TDIM while enjoying delectable hors d’oeuvres and refreshing beverages.

Supporting the Oakwood Rotary Foundation: The primary purpose of TDIM is to raise funds for the Oakwood Rotary Foundation. Over the years, the Foundation has contributed close to $750,000 to local nonprofits and charitable organizations, working tirelessly to support those in need throughout the Miami Valley.
